6 MB/s (not the same units) will give you peak results for any game. Upload speed is only above download because usually isps offer this on the lower end.
Fucking plug in i dont care if you have NASA internet. Fluctuating from 15ping to 100 ping is going to be a very bad experience because the delay wont ever be the same. If you have gigafiber internet it means nothing if your ping isn't consistent. However if you live in say Atlanta GA, then please dont VPN into miami because that will only increase your ping when you play someone anywhere not from miami because your new route is ATL->miami->anywhere say ATL again.
VPNing into a Virginia server can improve ping this way (Miami->virginia->Ny). To related it to driving.Instead of taking i95 highway from miami to NY, your isp might send you from miami to st louis to NY which of course takes longer. This is because your ISP wont always send you on the best routes. Using a VPN or changing ISP can improve ping even if they are the same speed (which they only advertise download/upload speed). Playing someone closer will have less of a delay. Now obviously if you are playing from NY to China, then its a worse experience than having 3% packet loss. The most common ones don't test for packet loss or for routes/ping (explained in next post).
just google "packet loss test." I recommend this if you ever feel laggy even though your speed tests say you're fine.
